We provide affordable and powerful eCommerce packages, based on the open-source 'Interchange'
eCommerce application server from the IC Dev Group.
This has been in constant development since the mid 1990's, and is mature,
secure, extremely capable, and extremely well supported. Because it is open-source, you
can be sure that any bugs will be fixed without delay, that there are no "back doors"
left open to the vendor's head office just waiting for a passing hacker to exploit, and
that you will never be forced to continually "upgrade your licence fee" to suit
someone else's revenue stream. Interchange is free, and rather than cost you money it
will make you money.
It uses its own highly-tuned application server in conjunction with a
high performance SQL database (eg, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle), and so is capable
of scaling from small to high-end performance, selling a handful or a million-plus
products to your customers with efficiency and security. See the full set of

There are two ways to set up an eCommerce shop for yourself:

Take one of our hosting packages with Interchange and a demo shop pre-installed.
This will need you to change the products files, change the graphics, purchase an
SSL certificate, and setup your payment gateway. Recommended for those who have
some technical knowledge and a little spare time.

| OpenWebShop

Or take our 'OpenWebShop' package, also based on
Interchange but fully
configured to suit your business and ready to take your orders. Recommended
for those who are good at running a successful business but are without the time
or inclination to develop the technical aspects. For this option, we will do this:
- Install the complete shop using the standard demo style.
- Install all of your graphics, eg your shop logo, the products graphics etc.
- Set up your products database, using either MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Set up your shipping system, using one of the standard shipping methods.
- Set up your payment system, using one of the standard payment systems
according to your choice of merchant account and payment processor. For example,
for Protx we would normally install their 'Direct' system which keeps your customer
on your own server, but if you prefer we can install their 'Server' system which
requires your customer to move to the Protx server to make payment.
- Register your chosen domain name if you have not already done so.
- Install an 'InstantSSL Pro' SSL certificate and 'TrustLogo' (includes
US$2,500 worth of insurance) as part of the price.
- Set up PGP or GPG correctly and ensure that you receive properly encrypted
order emails.
- Set up all of your email accounts
- Set up your Webmail system (which includes a calendar and address book and is
accessed from your browser, giving you mail no matter where you are) so that
it co-operates with your normal email system on the server.
- Set up both Webalizer and Analog for your web traffic statistics.
- Include a month's free hosting on our vServer1 or vHost2 package.
- Install a back-up shop, identical to your finished main shop, for you to experiment
with if you want to change styles or further customise in your own theme.
- Run tests through your shop to ensure that everything really is working the
way it should

To start selling and making profits from your new shop, you need to:
|
- Order the package, which includes the private server
vServer1 or shared vHost2 package (with the first month's hosting free)
- Send us your products database (eg, as a spreadsheet, or comma or tab separated
file, or even as MySQL or Postgres files. We will telephone you after receiving
your order to discuss things like this).
- Send us your graphics - logos and products images. (As soon as you have placed
your order you will have an FTP account to which you may conveniently send these. Or
you may send us a CD, or email them. )
- Send us the details for your payment gateway (this will possibly have come
with your merchant account. Note too, that you are the only one who can sign up
for a merchant account and payment processor, neither we nor
anyone else can do this on your behalf, and this expense is separate to this package).
You may take real-time credit cards, or you may choose
to take mail order cheques or COD orders instead.
- Specify your preferred shipping methods.
We will have your shop up and ready to take orders within three days of receiving the
required information from you.
As you will have full FTP, SSH, and InterchangeAdminPanel access to
your shop you will be able to further customise it at your leisure, even whilst
it is making money for you.
Our price for doing all of this is an extremely reasonable
£750.00, including
everything but the regular hosting and support charges
(£45.00 pm. for the Virtual Private Server1, or
£25.00 pm.
for the Shared Hosting option, with the first month free on both. A dedicated server will
cost more - please contact us.) There are no other costs involved
from us.
