DOMAIN REGISTRATION

Registering your own domain name is a very simple process - so simple in fact, that it's more than likely that the domain you would like has already been registered by someone else.

While there are many "agencies" offering to register your name for a cut-price fee, beware of the extra charges involved: eg, the charge for moving your domain to another registrar, the charge for hosting your name, etc, etc.

Also, and this is most important, be careful of who actually owns your precious domain name after you have paid for an agency to register it. When you go to a proper registrar you will be asked for three contact names - administrative, billing, and technical. The administrative contact is the owner (ie, you), the billing contact is normally the same as the administrative contact, and the technical contact can also be the same but is commonly your web hoster or ISP. You will also be asked for the addresses of two name servers, where your domain name and its associated IP will be registered.

If your agency does not require these contact names during the registration process, then the owner of your new domain name will be the agency, not you.

If you are going to be hosting your site with us and want to use our DNS for your site, then the details needed are:

    ns1.zolotek.net     207.44.228.221
    ns2.zolotek.net     207.44.229.1

One agency we can recommend is Joker.com - they can register both European and International domains at very good prices, and will do it properly. You will definitely own your own domain name, and you have the option of using their name servers if you should so want.

If you would like us to register your domains for you, then we will be happy to do so. We will of course register it in your own name. Prices vary according to the type of domain, but are only nominally more than doing it yourself. Contact us at the addresses given in our support page.
